Dates for the Diary

Open Day / Club Pre Season Social

On the 11th April the cricket section will be having an open day for any new or perspective members to come down and meet members outside of the net environment and come and see the club. It’s also a great opportunity for existing members to catch up before the start of the season. The bar of course will be open, they will be some sport on the TV no doubt and some food as well. We will be there from 1pm onwards so come down for a drink if you can.

Our Natwest Cricket Force Day is Saturday 28th March.

This is a day when all members are asked to give up what time they can to come down the club and help prepare the ground for the coming season. We have lots of jobs to be getting on with such as putting rope and benches out, moving sightscreen, sorting the sheds out, preparing the outfield etc

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. People will be at the ground from 10.30am onwards so please come down anytime during the day and lend a hand.

WIn a B3 Bat
WIN a B3 Series 1 Bat worth £150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a superb B3 series 1 stripe cricket bat worth £150 up for grabs in a bat raffle. Tickets are £5 and are available from members of the cricket committee or speak to Matt Guest.
The bat has 8 grains, minimal con-caving a very light pickup and weighs 2lb 6.4oz
All profits will go towards the cricket section. This is a fantastic opportunity to win a stunning bat and raise some cash for the club!

Major Ground Work
New Outdoor Nets

The cricket committee are delighted to announce that work will commence in the next few months on improvements to the clubs practice facilities.

We have been awarded significant grants and by topping this up using money collected through fundraising, membership etc, we are now able to build two brand new fully enclosed artificial nets. These will be built from scratch on the land to the left of the existing nets and will be fully enclosed including adequate run up space, a lockable fence to prevent misuse and damage and will have an electricity supply to enable bowling machine use.
This is another achievement by the club in the last year or so to improve the standard of cricket and facilities available for all our members.
A huge thanks must be given to everyone involved for their tireless efforts in getting the grants and to the generosity to London Marathon Fund and Grange Park Trust for their funding.
