Morning All,

There are still places available to any members who wants to be involved in ITVs filming at the club on Saturday morning. Please email matthewguest@hotmail.co.uk if you or your child (this is open to the junior age group squads also) would be interested in taking part. You will need to be at the club for 8.45 in the morning for filming to start at 9am, it shouldnt take longer than about an hour. I need to send consent forms which must be compelted by this afternoon so please dont just turn up on the day, get in contact with me first.

Also a couple of updates, the quiz scheduled for 10th May has been postponed we will let you knwo when the new date is soon.
 
I will be printing off forms for the fantasy cricket and distributing them / leaving them at the club over the weekend, i will push back when i do the first update until after the weekend so those who get a form will be able to submit a team and get full points. Finally an update on the nets, the refurbishment has been booked in for the beginning of next week so we should have them up and running in time for next weeks training sessions.

There is a possiblity that ITV may need us to do some filming (they cant say what for at this stage). They require a group of players from a mixed demograph to be filmed playing on the outfield but not in whites (giving the impression of playing in the park). If they select us filming will be at the ground 9am this Saturday for about an hour, if anyone is interested please let me know by email or text 07846276331 asap (i.e tonight [May 1st] or first thing tomorrow morning [May 2nd]). They wanted  a mix of ages so any colts who are about please let me know you availability. This isnt confirmed yet but i need to be able to tell them tomorrow how many we have available.

A massive thanks to those who have signed up already for the fantasy cricket already. Since there have only been a handful of fixtures and still lots of people still to submit a team i have decided to hold back on adding the completed scores to date until next Wednesday. Therefore any teams selected before next week will get the points for all of the games already taken place. This gives you another week of fixtures and selection of the opening league teams to help guide your team selections.

Final Deadline is 31st of May but any teams not entered before next wednesday only pick up points from the date the teams were entered onwards, so you could potentially miss out on a few points.

Just to let you know this Week we will be having registration nights for the junior age groups.

Wedensday 6.30pm for Under 13s and below
Thursday 6.30pm for Under 15s/16

It is very important parents attend, to meet the coaches, speak with the committee and most importantly to sign the memebrship fomrs, child protection forms and emergency contact forms. Without these being completed your child will not be able to attend training sessions or play in any of the sides.

Just to remind you that Membership for colts is £20 and can be paid in cash, cheque or by card.

For seniors a few people will be doing some fielding drills on the outfield this tuesday (weather permitting) and again the bar will be open to take your membership fees and application forms. Full training will commence Tuesday 23rd April.

As you can tell by the cold grey damp weather we have been having recently the cricket season is nearly upon us! I hope you all had a good winter either netting or playing indoor cricket. A massive thanks to al the captains for their hard work in organsing the senior teams and to all the aprents and coaches of the colts who made their fixtures and net sessions possible.
A big welcome to all the new members who joined us during the winter net programme i hope you settled in well and were made to feel welcome and are looking forward to your first season with the Stow!

As with every year, its a busy time as we get preparing for our first fixtures, below are a few gentle reminders, important notices and some fundraisiers that are coming up:

Membership Due

Im sure you have received the earlier notifications and it will coem as no surprise as it happens every year but memebrship is now due. Please return your forms and moeny as soon as you can.

For colts parents please note there will be a registration evening simialr to last season. You will be contacted shortly with regards to this, however please feel free to go to the club and pay your membership in beforehand.

Ground Preperation Day - Natwest Cricket Force 2013 - SUNDAY 7th APRIL 10am onwards

As ever we need to ready the ground for the opening fixtures, getting sightscreens out, moving benches, tidying ground etc etc. A working party is required for this Sunday (7th April), even if you can only spare an hour or so please pop down and help out. The more people who help the quicker and easier it will be. The bar will be open from midday for well earned refreshment. I'll even thrown in a free natwest cricket force t-shirt for everyone who attends!

Quiz Night - Friday May 10th 7.30pm

Friday May 10th  is the cricket section quiz night - all funds raised will go to help the section. Please make a note in your diarys and keep the evening free. Details yet to be confirmed but food will be provided. Any volunteers for a quiz master please let Matt Guest know. Please let friends and family know.

Stow Fantasy Cricket

This year we will be running a Stow Fantasy Cricket League. Entry is £10 per team and can be entered directly online using paypal. Pick 2 Batsmen,2 Bowlers,1 Keeper & 1 All Rounder equally no more than £25m.

Outdoor Nets

Outdoor training should start in the next week or so - weather dependant (keep checking your emails and the website for details. In rpeperation for this the Committee have managed to secure majority funding to have the outdoor nets repaired. This means we will have safe and secure practice facilities for this summer. A massive thanks to Ed Edwards, Del Steward and the committee for their continuing hard work.

Messageboard

You may have noticed that the messageboard is back on the website, im hoping to get more member interaction and communnication and will trial the messageboard as a medium for this in addition to our facebook and twitter pages. You will need a website login to access most of the forum.

Playing Shirts

I know a few people have been asking about playing kit for this season, we are using the same suppliers and kit as last season. If anyone would like to purchase any playing or trainign gear please go to our websop at Tyler Sports (link via the website).

Just a quick update on whats going on:

Beer Festival 22nd - 24th March

The beer festival is less than a week away now. Tickets will be available on the door priced £5 and £3 for CAMRA members which goes to the cricket section. This will include a comemerative festival glass. There will be over 10 beers from various brewers including Fullers and the East London Brewery (brewers of our special Stow Beer) who are showcasing two new beers. There will also be live music in the evening on Friday and Saturday and a quiz Sunday night. I hope to see many of you at some point over the weekend.

We also need volunteers for manning the door (in particular Saturday afternoon), if you can offer yor time during the weekend please let Matt Guest know.
